In 1985, S. S. Podobivskyi graduated from Ternopil State Pedagogical Institute majoring in the specialty “Teacher of Biology and Chemistry”. During 1984-1988, he worked as a biology and chemistry teacher in secondary schools of the Volyn and Lviv regions. In 1988-1989, S. S. Podobivskyi worked as a director of a secondary school. From 1989 to 1992, he was a postgraduate student at the Zoology Department of O. Gorky Kyiv State Pedagogical University. In 1993, he defended his thesis for the degree of PhD in Biology, majoring in “Entomology”, The defence was held at the Institute of Zoology of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

During 1992-1999, he worked as Vice-Rector for Research and Dean of the Faculty of Biology and Physical Education of T. Shevchenko Kremenets State Pedagogical College.

From 1999 to 2016, S. S. Podobivskyi worked as an associate professor of the Department of Zoology of Volodymyr Hnatiuk Ternopil State (and later National) Pedagogical University.

Since 2016, S. S. Podobivskyi has been working as an associate professor of the Department of Medical Biology at I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University.

Under the leadership of S. S. Podobivskyi, more than 30 diploma and 4 master’s theses were defended.

He is the author of about 60 scientific articles (including 5 papers in Scopus and Web of Science journals), 5 monographs, about 10 educational and methodological manuals.
