RESUME

In 1991, M. I. Shkilna graduated with honours from Ternopil State Medical Institute, majoring in “General Medicine”.

In 1991-1992, she worked as an intern doctor specializing in “Therapy” at Ternopil City Clinical Hospital No. 2.

From December 1992 to December 2005, M. I. Shkilna was an immunologist at the Medical Centre “Railway Station Hospital of Ternopil”; from December 1992 to 2016, she was an infectious diseases doctor at the Medical Centre “Railway Station Hospital of Ternopil”.

From January to June 2006, Professor Shkilna was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Medical Biology, Microbiology, Virology and Immunology of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil State Medical University.

From September 2006 to March 19, 2018, she was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Infectious Diseases, Epidemiology, Skin and Venereal Diseases of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil State Medical University.

From March 20, 2018 to November 24, 2021, M. I. Shkilna occupied a position of associate professor of the Department of Infectious Diseases, Epidemiology, Skin and Venereal Diseases of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University.

From November 25, 2021 to the present – she is the Professor of the Department of Infectious Diseases, Epidemiology, Skin and Venereal Diseases of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University.

In February 2017, M. I. Shkilna completed a research internship for educators at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University in Warsaw (UKSW) as part of the Project organized by the Institute for International Academic and Scientific Cooperation (IIASC) and the ADD Foundation.

From August 12 to October 12, 2021, Professor Shkilna was a participant in the II International program of advanced training for heads of educational and research institutions, as well as research and teaching staff: “Together with Outstanding Leaders of Today: Values, Experience, Knowledge, Competence and Technology for the Formation of a Successful Personality and Transformations of the Surrounding World”.

For five years, M. I. Shkilna has been a member of the editorial board of the international Polish journal “Our Dermatology on line”. She is a co-author of 13 invention and utility model patents.

M. I. Shkilna is a scientific supervisor of 4 PhD theses.

Since 2017 to the present, Professor Shkilna has been working as the responsible executor of the research paper of the Department of Infectious Diseases, Epidemiology, Skin and Venereal Diseases funded by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

On June 16, 2010, in the specialized academic council D 64.603.01 at the Institute of Dermatology and Venereology of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, she defended her PhD thesis on the topic: “Clinical-pathogenetic features of some forms of urticaria and dermatitis of allergic genesis against the background of giardiasis” in the specialty 14.01.20 – skin and venereal diseases.

On May 11, 2021, in the specialized academic council D 58.601.02 at I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University, M. I. Shkilna defended a doctoral dissertation on the topic “Clinical-epidemiological and immunological aspects of Lyme borreliosis, improvement of diagnostics and therapy” in the specialty 14.01.13 – infectious diseases.

Her general work experience is 30 years with 16 years of teaching experience. The total number of printed papers is 156, including 58 in the last 5 years.
